Consumer Information on Anthem-Hartford Healthcare
 
The Connecticut Insurance Department is offering the following information for customers of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT affected by the contract expiration with Hartford Healthcare:
 
During this contract expiration, members should be aware that they have coverage for emergency care as though in-network and special continuation of care rights for treatment initiated prior to October 1, 2014.  Treating physicians may also submit a request for Continuity of Care with Anthem.

While the Insurance Department has no statutory authority over contract negotiations between a carrier and its provider network, we continue to closely monitor developments to ensure the continuity of care for policyholders. The Department remains hopeful that both parties will reach a resolution that has the best interests of their patients and policyholders at heart.
