UPDATED: Anthem begins offering credit monitoring services
 

Feb. 13 update: Current and former Anthem members dating back to 2004 are now being offered identity repair assistance and credit monitoring services free of charge for two years. Information on enrolling can be found at:

Affected members can start accessing these services prior to receiving a mailed notification from Anthem, which will be sent in the coming weeks. Members may access these services at any time during the two-year coverage period.

Previous information: Anthem is advising people to be aware of scam email campaigns targeting current and former Anthem members. Anthem is also NOT making any outbound calls to customers regarding the cyber attack. Anthem will contact current and former members via mail delivered by the U.S. Postal Service about the cyber-attack with specific information on how to enroll in credit monitoring. Anthem has issued the following information on scam emails.

Anthem has set up a special website – www.anthemfacts.com – to answer customer questions. Customers can also call Anthem’s special toll-free number 877-263-7995. The company will be contacting current and former customers directly affected and will be offering free credit monitoring and identity protection services.

The Connecticut Insurance Department is working closely with Anthem to assess the impact to Connecticut customers and ensure there are plans in place to protect Connecticut policyholders.
