CT Customized Employment Certification Course
The Connecticut Customized Employment Certification Course launched in October 2021 to expand Community Provider capacity to implement CE services. The hybrid online course consists of asynchronous (do it yourself) work and synchronous sessions (live meetings) facilitated by certified teachers from the Regional Education Service Center (RESC) Alliance.
Since the initial offering of the course in October 2021, five additional iterations have occurred. Four more iterations are planned for the 23-24 state fiscal year. ADS and DDS will continue to offer the course in an effort to build capacity for CE Services across the state. Prospective learners are prioritized by service area and language skills (primarily Spanish and American Sign Language) to ensure regional coverage and the communication needs of our job seekers are met. The ADS-DDS team monitors each iteration, gathering feedback from learners to improve the course, and service implementation.
The application for 2023-2024 Connecticut Customized Employment Certification Course is now open! Course calendars and important considerations are reviewed in the CE Certification Course 23-24 Announcement.
Special thanks to the CT Council on Developmental Disabilities and Linda Rammler from the UConn Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities for contributing some of the initial material and foundational knowledge in the development of this curriculum.
