NEW HAVEN/HARTFORD EXPRESS BUS ADDS MIDDAY SERVICE

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that midday service will begin on the #20 New Haven/Hartford Express bus beginning on Monday, March 3, 2014. The added service will consist of one trip originating in New Haven with a destination of Hartford, and another from Hartford to New Haven.

      “The addition of midday service to this popular express bus route will provide our passengers more flexibility in their commutation to and from work,” stated CTDOT Commissioner James Redeker. “Our passengers have requested that we look into additional service and we feel confident that this service upgrade will be well-received by our valued customers.”

      The New Haven/Hartford Express route is a limited stop weekday commuter route, with intermediate stops in North Haven, Middletown and Wethersfield. In addition to the midday trips, there are three morning and three evening trips from both Hartford and New Haven. This route is operated by Peter Pan, and passengers should look for the #20 New Haven/Hartford Express destination sign.

      Express bus fares are distance based. For this route, the one-way fare ranges from $3.50 to $4.30 from intermediate stops, and costs $5.15 for the full length of the route. A discounted monthly pass is available which is valid for unlimited rides within the fare zone during the month and year printed on the pass. The cost of a monthly pass for this route ranges from $119.00 to $175.00.
