The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) offers COOP worker positions at various locations throughout the State of Connecticut. These positions are located at our Newington, New Haven, Norwich, Rocky Hill, Thomaston, Chester-Hadlyme and Rocky Hill-Glastonbury offices. Depending on available funds, positions are filled for a period not to exceed six months. The DOT recruits for positions that include the following work assignments: general/clerical, maintenance, professional engineering, and information technology system analysis. Some of the duties performed by the general/clerical seasonal workers include assisting professional staff with research, training initiatives, records management and report writing.

The Human Resources Unit is in the east wing of the Connecticut Department of Transportation's (CTDOT) Headquarters Building in Newington. The staff of the Human Resources Unit is responsible for the recruitment, retention, and advancement of all CTDOT employees. Human Resources Specialists are also located in the four (4) District offices in Rocky Hill, Norwich, New Haven and Thomaston. The Human Resources Unit also directs the Safety Division staff in providing a safe working environment. Led by Agency Personnel Administrator, Brenda Abele, the CTDOT Human Resources Unit is currently expanding the focus of human resources to better serve all CTDOT employees as well as the traveling public of the State of Connecticut.
