How do I get a permit for a special event on a roadway?
You can apply for a special event permit by writing to the appropriate District Special Services Section Manager (pdf 376 kb). Your permit request should include:
- type of event;
- date and time of event;
- roadways to be used;
- traffic control plan proposed;
- indication that the town’s Local Traffic Authority supports the use of the roadways involved and agrees with the proposed traffic control plan;
- map that clearly depicts the parade route and detours (should include street names and/or route numbers).
