Gov. Malloy: State Seeking Public Review and Comment on Action Plan for $66 Million in Federal Super Storm Sandy Recovery Funds
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state Department of Housing (DOH) has released for public comment an action plan that outlines how the state will distribute $66 million in federal Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG- DR) funding to continue the state’s Super Storm Sandy mitigation efforts. Governor Malloy invited residents to visit the state’s official CT Recovers website to review and submit comments on the plan. A period for public comment began February 14, 2014 and will end on March 20, 2014.

Saturday: Gov. Malloy Attends Robotics Competition in Suffield
On Saturday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the opening ceremony of the Aces High Robotics 176 annual Suffield Shakedown competition, where over 30 teams of students from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York will participate in a robotics competition utilizing the STEM skills of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Gov. Malloy: State Will Accept Assault Weapon and Large Capacity Magazine Applications Submitted but Not Received by Deadline
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) will accept and process the applications to register assault weapons and large capacity magazines that are believed to have been submitted to the state agency by the statutory deadline but were not received by that date.

Gov. Malloy Declares State of Emergency to Seek Federal Assistance in Obtaining Salt for Cities and Towns
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today declared a State of Emergency in an attempt for the state to pursue a request to the federal government to help some municipalities in Connecticut that are experiencing road salt shortages for the remainder of this winter season. Today's winter weather event is the twelfth of the season.

Gov. Malloy Orders All Non-Essential First and Second Shift State Employees to Not Report to Work Today, Feb. 13
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that he has ordered all first and second shift, non-essential state employees to not report to work on Thursday, February 13, in response to winter storm conditions across the state. State employees are encouraged to contact their supervisors for further guidance.

Malloy, joined by Board of Regents for Higher Education Vice Chair Yvette Meléndez, Board of Regents President Gregory Gray, Connecticut Department of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor, legislators, students, and education and business leaders, today launched Transform CSCU 2020, a strategic plan to invest an additional $134.5 million into the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) System.
