Gov. Malloy Announces Historic Agreement to Secure Long-Term Commitment from United Technologies Corp. to Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and United Technologies Chairman & CEO Louis Chênevert today announced an agreement under which UTC will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research, development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years. During the same time period, UTC expects to invest up to $4 billion in research and other capital expenditures in the state. The agreement is expected to have an impact on more than 75,000 jobs in the state.

Gov. Malloy: Collaborative Law Enforcement Efforts and Increased Community Involvement Have Led to Steady Reduction in Shooting-Related Crime in Connecticut
Citing a memo from the Office of Policy and Management’s Criminal Justice Policy and Planning Division, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner reported 97 murders last year, down from 146 in 2012, and the third lowest point recorded for the state in the last forty years.
