Gov. Malloy Announces New Haven Line Commuters Will Soon be able to Purchase Rail Tickets with Smartphone App
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, (CTDOT) and Metro-North Railroad today announced that commuters on the New Haven Line - including the New Canaan, Danbury, and Waterbury branch lines - will soon be able to purchase train tickets utilizing an app on their mobile devices, providing added convenience to commuters. Once on board, commuters will simply need to show the digital ticket on their smartphone device to the conductor.

Gov. Malloy Thanks the Connecticut State Police for 100 Lives Saved Utilizing Overdose Reversal Medication
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are thanking the Connecticut State Police for saving 100 lives in fewer than two years through the administration of the opioid antagonist Narcan to individuals experiencing overdoses. The 100th save by a Connecticut State Trooper occurred early Sunday morning in Woodbury.

Gov. Malloy: Summer Meals Program Hits All-Time High of 700 Sites Across Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Education Commissioner Dianna Wentzell today announced that the Connecticut Summer Meals Program reached an important milestone. Connecticut now has over 700 locations across the state serving free, nutritious meals to children during the summer.

Gov. Malloy Statement on Analysis Showing State Saved Over $37 Million in overtime During Fiscal Year 2016
Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement regarding a report released today from the state legislature's nonpartisan Office of Fiscal Analysis showing that state agencies saved more than $37 million in overtime costs during Fiscal Year 2016, which ended on June 30, 2016 - about $4 million more than reported last month. This amounts to a 14.5 percent drop when compared to the previous fiscal year, as indicated in a letter sent from Office of Policy and Management Secretary Ben Barnes to the Governor this afternoon.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Additional $400,000 Federal Grant to Fight Zika
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is applauding an announcement made today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that the Connecticut Department of Public Health's (DPH) Birth Defects Registry is being awarded a $400,000 grant to fight the Zika virus. This new grant will closely collaborate with the $580,000 ELC grant announced yesterday.

Gov. Malloy: State Receives Nearly $580,000 to Address Zika, Monitor Zika-Related Birth Defects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation today announced that the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) will be receiving a $579,055 grant from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to support and enhance the state's efforts to protect Connecticut residents from Zika virus and monitor serious birth defects, like microcephaly, and other adverse health outcomes that can be caused by Zika virus.
