Data Release: Daily Statistics of Pretrial Inmates Accused of Misdemeanors, 5/25/16
Today, the Office of Governor Dannel P. Malloy released May 25, 2016 numbers for those accused of misdemeanor crimes who are currently in jail awaiting trial. Often, many of those pre-trial detainees are in prison because they cannot come up with even a few hundred dollars in bail.

Gov. Malloy Introduces Vice President Biden at White House Convening on Gun Violence Prevention
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy this afternoon introduced Vice President Joe Biden at a White House convening on gun violence prevention, which was attended by state and local leaders from throughout the country. Earlier in the day, the Governor was a panelist during a discussion on state and local actions to prevent gun violence and domestic violence. Gov. Malloy: Graduation Rates Reach Record High
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Commissioner of Education Dianna R. Wentzell today announced that graduation rates in the state reached a record high in 2015 - hitting 87.2 percent, significantly higher than the national average of 82.3 percent.

Gov. Malloy: Leading International Energy Retailer Expands in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Crius Energy, through its wholly owned subsidiary Regional Energy Holdings, will relocate its headquarters to Norwalk, where the company will retain its 200 jobs and create 225 new positions within the next four years.

Gov. Malloy & First Lady Cathy Malloy Receive Honorary Degrees from Curry College
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and First Lady Cathy Malloy today each received honorary degrees from Curry College, a private higher education institution in Milton, Massachusetts. Governor Malloy also served as the college's commencement speaker today during its 2015 commencement exercises.
