State Files Federal Lawsuit against Alleged Mortgage Rescue Scam
Attorney General George Jepsen has obtained a temporary restraining order and appointment of a receiver in a joint lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida against Connecticut-based Resolution Law Group, Florida-based Berger Law Group, and related entities and individuals over allegations that they took advantage of struggling homeowners through a scam that promised legal assistance but delivered none.

State of Connecticut and Federal Trade Commission File Federal Complaint, Consent Order against TicketNetwork, Partner Program Companies for Unfair Trade Practices
The Office of the Attorney General, at the request of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, is joining the Federal Trade Commission to file a Complaint and Consent Orders in U.S. District Court against TicketNetwork, Inc., a Connecticut-based ticket resale company, its wholly-owned subsidiary TicketSoftware, LLC, and two companies that are part of TicketNetwork's Partner Program, Ryadd, Inc. and SecureBoxOffice, LLC.

Attorney General Jepsen Partners with FTC to Promote Military Consumer Protection Day
Our nation’s military families face unique challenges, such as frequent deployments and relocations, that make them particularly vulnerable to scam artists. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reported over 62,000 consumer complaints from veterans, military families and service men and women in 2012 alone. To assist America’s military families and veterans avoid scams, Attorney General George Jepsen is joining with the FTC, consumer protection organizations and other private sector groups in the second annual Military Consumer Protection Day on Wednesday, July 16.

Merrill & Jepsen Collect $1.6 Million in Penalties from Companies Transacting Business in Connecticut Without Legal Authority
Connecticut Secretary of the State Denise Merrill and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that during Fiscal Year 2014, a joint effort by their offices resulted in the collection of more than $1.6 million in penalties from out-of-state companies operating in Connecticut without legal authority to transact business.

Attorney General Jepsen: Deadline to File DRAM Settlement Claim is August 1
Attorney General George Jepsen is encouraging consumers to file claims to recover money from the $310 million Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) settlement before the quickly approaching August 1, 2014 deadline. Consumers can file claims to recover money due to the preliminary approval of multistate antitrust settlements with all the major manufacturers of DRAM for conspiring to fix their prices.

Governor Malloy: Changes to State Laws Regarding the Residential Electricity Market Will Benefit Connecticut Consumers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that as of July 1st several changes to laws concerning Connecticut’s electricity market will have gone into effect, creating greater transparency and increasing protections for residential consumers by requiring electricity suppliers to provide very clear and specific information about how much they are being charged for electricity.

Connecticut Joins $550M Joint State-Federal Settlement with Mortgage Servicer SunTrust

State Joins National Settlement with AT&T Over Data Cramming Allegations
Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Commissioner William M. Rubenstein announced today that Connecticut, along with 49 other States and the District of Columbia, has reached a settlement with AT&T Mobility, LLC to resolve allegations that the company participated in a practice known as "data cramming."
