East Hartford
On Friday, July 12, Bridge 02366, which carries Route 2 West over I-84 and Governors Street towards the Founders Bridge was reopened to traffic.
Willington
On August 24, 2018, Bridge 00847 over I-84 was reopened to traffic.
Current Construction Activities
10/8/2019:
Bridge reconstruction in the project area is now complete and traffic operations are fully restored. The contractor will continue to complete punchlist activities in the project area as the project concludes.
Construction Look Ahead
Period of September 27, 2019 to October 18, 2019
East Hartford
During the weeks of September 30 and October 7, backfilling of permanent barrier, power washing of back walls, and installation of ruble strips and line striping will take place during night work hours. The coping at bridge abutments and installation of electrical conduits and wiring will take place during night work hours.
During the week of Monday, October 14, overhead sign overlays, drums, and temporary tape on I-84 will be removed.
ridge 02367 is anticipated to be fully reopened to traffic on Wednesday, October 16.
Lane closures are necessary to create a safe work zone; drivers are asked to be aware of possible lane closures for their own safety and that of the project team. Please also note that all work is contingent upon the weather.
