Financial help for families in need

Temporary Family Assistance (TFA) cash helps families with children meet their needs. You can apply for TFA to help with your finances while training, in school, or through a time of hardship. Families must meet certain criteria to get TFA, including time limits, income, and asset limits.

TFA is part of a federal program called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). For a description of all the programs and services funded by TANF, please go to our TANF State Plan.
