I am having trouble with removing a page from my website. The page has been deleted from Sitecore, but still remains on the website. How do I go about fixing this?
Answer: Any time you delete an item, you'll need to publish the parent folder in which it was initially found. Make sure "publish sub-items" is checked in the Publish dialog box.
For example, when deleting a "Most Popular" link item, you'll need to publish the "Most Popular" links folder before the deletion will be reflected on the live site. -
I am not seeing my callout boxes that I added on the website, however, I see them in the rich text editor.
Answer: We believe that it is a CSS cache issue on the production servers. Please let your System Administrator know if you experience this issue.

I am trying to change a link title under my ‘Most Popular’ link listing on the main page. I renamed it with ‘and’ because I know we can't enter the ampersand. I tried publishing this in both the experienced editor and the content editor, but it didn’t work.
Answer: The ampersand cannot be added to the Link file name, but can be added to the actual Link Title that appears on the page. See how to create and edit the Most Popular Links.

I copied an image into the content area and it is not showing up
Answer:
- If the image already exists in SiteCore, you can insert the image by selecting the Insert Sitecore Media icon from the Media Library.
- If the image has not been uploaded into SiteCore, you must first upload the image into SiteCore then insert the image by selecting the Insert Sitecore Media icon from the Media Library.
-
I created a new page or edited a current page but it is not showing up on my website.
Answer:
Make sure you save your work and it has published. Newly created pages and any changes made to existing items will not show up until they are fully published.
If you have submitted your work through a workflow, check with your Approver. They must approve the work for them to be published and show up on the website.

When I get kicked out of Sitecore and have to log back in, I loose my edits. Why does this happen?
Answer:
Sitecore has a 20 minute session timeout. This means if you are not working in Sitecore for 20 minutes straight, your session will timeout and Sitecore will automatically log you out. Any changes you made that were NOT saved, will be lost.
When working in the Rich Text Editor (RTE), the Sitecore session timeout continues it's countdown because Sitecore does not recognize your activity. To ensure your content is saved and you do not get logged out after 20 minutes when working in the RTE, select the Accept button at the bottom of the screen (exiting you out of the RTE) and then select the Save icon.

I have a page I need to edit. I know where it resides, but I want to find other pages that hold links to this page. How can I do that?
Answer: In the Experience Editor, under the Presentation tab, you can see any items linking to an item by selecting "Associated Content".
In the Content Editor, it can be found under the "Navigate" tab, and by selecting the "Links" icon. -
I have a page that is locked by another. I've been asked as the admin to unlock it for someone else to work on. I do not see the unlock option to the left of the file name in the tree view.
Answer: From the Content Editor Content Tree, right-click to the far left of the screen, to the left of the grey line. A drop-down option appears. Select "locked-items" and “my locked-items”to add a check mark next to it. The lock icons should now appear next to any locked items listed.
You can also unlock a page by selecting "check in" from the "edit" dropdown. -
I have a press release that is showing twice under my News and Press, yet I deleted it.
Answer: In order to finalize the deletion of an item, the parent folder must be published with the "Publish sub-items" option selected.

I have a weird error that reads “you cannot edit this page because you do not have write access.” What does it mean?
Answer:
Two common reasons this alert message will display:
- Your permissions do not allow you to edit that page.
- If you recently submitted the page for Approval, it cannot be edited again until it has been approved or rejected by a Content Approver.
-
I have an alert to publish but it won't work. It shows as enabled under Agency Alerts. Why doesn’t it show?
Answer: The Agency Alert field may not be configured or "connected" to your Agency Alert item. Please contact the CI Helpdesk to correct the configuration.
-
I have deleted an agency alert that was posted, though it is not on the page I can no longer see the template to insert a new one.
Answer:
The Agency alert can be toggled on or off by checking or un-checking the "Enable" box on the alert itself, and then publishing it - it should never be deleted.
If the Alert item was deleted, please contact CI Helpdesk to request a new Alert item be added to your website.
