CTDOT and DPH Testing for Contamination along I-95 in Stratford

Danbury Train Station Parking Lot to be Closed Beginning Friday, Nov. 4

In order to accommodate maintenance activities, the parking lot at the Danbury train station will be closed from Friday, November 4, to Friday, November 18, 2016. Parking permits will be honored at the adjacent Liberty Street parking lot. Passengers requiring handicapped parking are advised to use the Bethel station or find other alternatives.

CTDOT Initiates Rail Noise Mitigation Efforts

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) today announced that Connecticut would become the first state in New England to install automated horn systems, commonly known as wayside horns, at various rail at-grade crossings. Rail and Bus Fare Increases to Take Effect in December

Train fares will go up 6 percent, including a previously approved 1 percent increase; bus fares will go up 16.7 percent, or 25 cents on a single one-way CTtransit bus trip.

Temporary Boarding Platform to Open March 28 in Meriden

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that a temporary boarding platform will be established at the site of the Meriden train station while a new station is built at the existing location, 60 State Street. The station project will also require the permanent closing of Brooks Street between Colony Street and State Street later this month.

CTDOT Announces Selection of Ticket Vending Machine System Contractor for CTrail Hartford Line

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) today announced that it has selected a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) System contractor for the CTrail Hartford Line (formerly referred to as the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Line). The $3.4 million contract was awarded to Trapeze Software Group, Inc., based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, through a competitive procurement process.

Malloy today announced that ridership on the New Haven commuter rail line for 2015 surpassed 40.3 million passenger trips – up two percent from the prior year and setting an all-time record, according to newly released data from Metro-North Railroad. The New Haven Line is the busiest commuter rail line in America. In 2014, ridership was 39.6 million.
